Team Registration, Travel & Accomodation Assistance

Team Registration

Registration requirements for the National Conference have been modified to ensure that students and teams are fully compliant with SIFE Global's quality assurance processes.  In addition, to the greatest extent possible, they will be conducted on-line to enable the direct collection of data.

The Active Team and Team Data Sheets have been implemented globally to track and report the progress of SIFE teams around the world.  All teams are required to complete these forms online prior to attending the National Conference.  The forms are for SIFE International use only and will not be shown to judges.  The data collected are of great value in compiling SIFE's official statistics and in determining future goals, thus it is important that teams record accurate information.
Registration for the National Conference is in two parts: for attendance at the event and for assistance with accommodation and travel.

Each team must complete an on-line team registration that covers all students, Faculty Advisors, other university staff, BAB members, family and friends.  All participants, including observers, will be issued with a name badge which must be worn to all sessions and to meals to assist with management and security.

Competing Teams

  • All team members must be registered with SIFE Global at http://www.sife.org  
  • All team members must complete the SIFE Australia Code of Conduct
  • All team registrations must be completed at http://apps.sife.org/SIFE_EventRegistration/
  • All teams must complete a Team Data Sheet on line at http://www.sife.org/SIFEForms/
  • All teams must complete an Active Team Sheet on line at http://www.sife.org/SIFEForms/
  • All teams must download a hard copy Project Verification Form from http://www.sife.org/SIFEForms/
  • The Faculty Advisor and one student to attend the Registration desk and submit:
                1 correctly completed Project Verification Form, including all three original signatures
                (Team President, Faculty Advisor and Institutional Administrator)
                3 copies of the team's written report
  • Only teams which comply fully with all registrations requirements will be permitted to compete.

(ii) Top to Future Top Seminar

  • One student only is to be nominated as part of the on-line Registration process.

(iii) Honour Awards, Special and Individual Topic Competitions

 

Team Participation Assistance - Travel, Accommodation & Meals

In a new development for 2009, professional travel agent support is being provided by CTM Travel and integrated into the Team Registration process.  Subsidies for travel and accommodation may only be accessed by booking under arrangements provided for SIFE Australia by CTM Travel.

Observing teams will be eligible for subsidy at 50% of the rate available to competing teams.

Faculty Advisors who register with and accompany a correctly-registered competing team and attend the I21 Conference on 9 July will be eligible for a cash stipend of $1,000.  There is a limit of one stipend per team.

Travel

Teams may arrange to travel at times and on dates of their own choosing, provided that they arrive by 15:00 on Thu 9 July and do not depart before the end of the Awards Ceremony on Sat 11 July.  A limited choice of flights will receive the travel subsidy.  An additional subsidy will be given to teams travelling more than 100 Km by road, either to Sydney or to their nearest airport.

Accommodation

Teams must choose from one of four venues with differing standards of accommodation offered through the Registration process to avail themselves of the subsidy.  Teams are free to book their accommodation elsewhere but should note that NO subsidy will be payable.

Meals

Each competing SIFE team may register ten members at no charge.  All meals will be provided for the first ten individuals registered with each team.  The charges for additional participants will be:

  • Thursday Reception   $25.00
  • Friday Lunch   $25.00
  • Friday Reception   $25.00
  • Saturday Lunch   $25.00
  • Saturday Reception   $25.00
  • Saturday After Party   $25.00
  • Cost if attending whole event   $100.00. Note that these costs are heavily subsidised.

Note that guests and observers may attend Morning and Afternoon Tea breaks without payment.  Note also that a forecast of additional meals is required as part of the on-line Team Registration and that payment for additional meals will be made as part of the process.
